A brief description of the bicycle sharing program:
The Purple Bike Coalition (PBC) is Williams College’s free bike service organization. Run and staffed by students, the program offers free bike repair and free rental services to students, faculty and staff during the school year and summer. It is also a place to learn how to repair your own bike and build new skills.

A brief description of the car sharing program:
Williams participates in ZipCar and has four ZipCars spaces available on campus for student, faculty, and staff use. ZipCar paused service during the pandemic and we are waiting to hear from them when they will return to campus. Williams also allows students, faculty, and staff to reserve and use college owned vehicles free of charge when for college related business and events.

A brief description of the incentives for fuel efficient vehicles:
To qualify for a Williams high-efficiency vehicle (HEV) sticker, a vehicle must be on the LEED Low Emitting and Fuel Efficient Vehicles list maintained by EPA. HEV parking spaces are next to LEED building projects – the Hollander/Shapiro project, Weston Field, and Sawyer Library. They reward people for choosing more fuel efficient vehicles with parking closer to the listed buildings.

Williams College has 10 level-2 EV charging stations (20 ports), operated by ChargePoint, at the following locations:
Chapman Rink – 1 unit: 2 Faculty/Staff only parking spaces
Hollander Hall – 1 unit: 2 Faculty/Staff only parking spaces
‘62 Center Parking Garage (upper deck) – 2 units: 3 Public spaces and 1 Public handicap space
Sawyer Library – 1 unit: 2 Public parking spaces
Spencer House – 1 unit: 2 Faculty/Staff only parking spaces
Weston Field – 1 unit: 2 Public parking spaces
Spring Street Lot — 1 unit: 2 Public parking spaces
Williams Inn – 1 unit: 2 Public/ Patrons parking spaces

The College makes subsidized mortgages available to eligible faculty and administrative staff in order to assist them in acquiring homes in the greater Williamstown area. More information about the program is available here: https://real-estate.williams.edu/mortgage-program/

A brief description of other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting:
As part of Williams College's GHG emissions and to support mobility in the region, Williams offers:
- Williams Motorcoach, a bus to and from major cities in the area around academic break times.
- A ride-for-free program with Berkshire Regional Transit Authority for students, faculty, and staff.
- A pilot shuttle for the fall of 2019 to give faculty and staff more transportation options. The service was paused when the COVID-19 pandemic started in early 2020.
