A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :

Zilkha Center intern Brodie Leo went through the 2021-22 Courses and Programs catalog, which contains courses potentially to be run during Fall and Spring semesters as well as Winter Study of this academic year. Brodie went alphabetically through each department and their respective courses, and read each course description that was listed as having a meeting date (i.e., not “canceled” or “not offered this academic year”). Courses that met this criterion and whose descriptions indicated relation to or focus on one or multiple of the defined SDG Clusters were recorded, along with course cross listing(s), professor name, and course description. Courses that appeared under multiple department subheadings (due to cross listings) were only counted once but each department was counted as offering sustainability focused or inclusive courses depending on the course's designation. Brodie also distinguished between “sustainability focused” and “sustainability inclusive” by the extent to which the course descriptions focused on sustainability (in terms of interpreted Clusters), as per STARS guidelines and definitions. Any courses whose distinctions were not clear were brought to Christine Seibert, Mike Evans, and Tanja Srebotnjak for determination.

How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Each course was counted as a single course regardless of the number of offerings or sections

A brief description of how courses with multiple offerings or sections were counted:

Each undergraduate course was counted as a single course regardless of the number of undergraduate offerings / cross-listings.
