A brief description of the energy management or benchmarking program:

We track energy use of buildings in a dashboard which is monitored on an ongoing basis. If any anomaly from projected energy use is detected, then we address it. In the planning stage, we set ambitious EUI targets for any new construction, which then would inform what we would expect to see during our benchmarking. When a new building is proposed, depending on its use (dormitory, science/technology center, dining hall, classroom space, etc), an EUI target is determined for that particular project that must comply with the building policies that pertain to it. Most importantly, "Building programs should seek to reduce, or at least not increase, the College’s annual energy-related (heating, cooling, and electric) emissions through energy efficiency and, where feasible the adoption of renewable energy strategies." https://sustainability.williams.edu/buildings/green-building-policies
