Within the Ethical Purchasing Policy at Laurier the following Standards are listed in order to legislate against the purchase of products from vendors who practice said conduct: 1. Forced Labour 2. Child Labour 3. Harassment or Abuse - not tolerated 4. Discrimination 5. Hours of Work - comply with national standards 6. Right to Freedom of Association and the Right to Bargain Collectively - must be in place 7. Wages and Other Compensation - standards are met 8. Health and Safety - adequate environmental provisions 9. Employment Relationship - work performed must be on the basis of recognized employment relationship established through national law and practice 10. Reproductive rights - must exist (No employee or prospective employee shall be subjected to the involuntary use of contraceptives or pregnancy testing) 11. Local Labour Laws - must be followed 12. Universal Declaration of Human Rights - meet or exceed conditions
