A brief description of the reusable to-go container program:
The Laurier Ecotainer program is designed to reduce the University's dependence on disposable containers and increase the availability of reusable containers. During the 2008 academic year, over 1,000,000 takeout containers were used, excluding disposable coffee cups. To eliminate the number of disposable containers, members of the Laurier community can buy into the Ecotainer program. The first step is to buy a one-time membership card for $5.00. Simply exchange a membership card for an ecotainer. Drop off dirty containers at food venues in exchange for a membership card or another meal to go. There are four sizes and types of reusable plastic containers. Multiple memberships can be purchased to have multiple containers of various sizes at one time.
