Movement that Matters is a wellness and exercise program for Whitman faculty, staff and family members with Whitman ID cards. MTM's Goals are: Promote the health and wellness of staff and faculty, Encourage habits of wellness ,Increase awareness of factors and resources contributing to wellbeing, Inspire and empower individuals to take responsibility for their own health, Support a sense of community.
EmployeeConnect is a confidential personal counseling and work-life service that provides support and resources to help employees resolve personal issues and identify needed resources. We offer confidential guidance and resources for
you or an immediate household family member.
Students:
The mission of the Whitman Counseling Center is to help all students who are experiencing psychological difficulties that interfere with success at college. In a safe, confidential environment students are assisted in overcoming personal, emotional and psychological issues that may negatively impact their goals, social functioning and overall Whitman experience. The Counseling Center strives to aid students in acquiring the skills, perspective, and resources necessary to both succeed in the college environment and to pursue a satisfying and productive life.
A core component of our mission is the promotion and affirmation of diversity in the broadest sense. We strive to create an environment where all people feel welcome and respected from any diverse racial, ethnic and national background, gender and sexual orientations, mental and physical abilities, religious/spiritual beliefs, language, class, age and social-economic background as well as other types of diversity.

Smoking Policy - Revised 2/27/14: "It is the policy of Whitman College that students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the campus are entitled to live, study, and work in areas that are free of smoke. In accordance with this policy and Washington State law, smoking in any form, including tobacco or electronic cigarettes, is prohibited inside any building on the Whitman College campus and is prohibited within 25 feet of any entrance, exit, window, or ventilation intake of any Whitman College campus building."
