Sustainability-focused courses are primarily concerned with the social, economic, and environmental aspects of sustainability. These courses may focus on one or more of these aspects and will attempt to consider the interconnection of all three and/or the connection between these aspects of sustainability and course content in a specific discipline.
Sustainability-related courses include sustainability (as defined above) as a component or module but not the primary focus of the course.

The request to create defintions was taken to the Sustainability Task Force which is comprised of faculty members from different departments. They discussed, manipulated, and decided on the defintions.
