The WWU Office of Sustainability website is dedicated to furthering Western’s strategic goal of campus sustainability, difined as: "Serve as a model for institutional effectiveness, innovation, diversity, and sustainability". The website provides comprehensive content in sustainability on campus in areas including: programs, initiatives, academics, operations, research, and community.

The Environmental Center sends out the ESP Bulletin twice a month detailing environmental events happening on campus and in the community, volunteer opportunities and environmental club meetings on campus. This is the source to learn about everything environmental happening on campus and around Bellingham.

A brief description of the social media platforms that focus on sustainability:
Office of Sustainability administers multiple channels of social media focused on sustainability. We have a Facebook and Twitter dedicated to general sustainability matters, campus wide updates, and news. In addition, other sustainability programs on campus manage their own social media accounts that include Instagram and Snapchat. All environmental programs collaborate on promoting each other's content for better coverage.

Sustainability related topics appear in the Western Front very often and cover a wide range of subjects, from vegan dinning, through permaculture, to social and economic issues. However there is no regularity in posting that type of content.

Green Building Signage

All projects brought by the Sustainable Action Fund grant program provide visible signange in order to promote the projects and their effects on Western's culture and climate. As of recent we have started using environmentally friendly non-PVC vinyl signage.

The Dining halls display signs at the front desk that include information on the local and organic foods that are served in the cafeterias. Also next to each food option in the dining hall descriptions are given that include information relating to the ingredients, whether or not the food is vegan/vegetarian, and if the food is local or non-local.

Sustainable Grounds Signage

Across the WWU campus you will find signs with a lady bug picture labeling pesticide-free zones. Also, compost created through a university compost site )which was funded through a Sustainable Action Fund (SAF) grant) is designated with a placard explaining "this compost brought to you by the SAF program".

Sustainable Walking Map or Tour

Sustainability Map is currently in the last stage of development, directed by the Spacial Institute in collaboration with the Office of Sustainability. Map organizes all sustainable features on campus by their category and includes information and pictures of the features to be easily identified.

Guide for Commuters

Yes

A brief description of the guide for commuters about how to use more sustainable methods of transportation:
Western designates an entire office to the transportation, which processes bus passess, conducts outreach and overall promotes sustainable transportation around the university and the Bellingham area. There are many printed, as well as on-line resources that students can use to learn how to take a bus, and what sort of accomodations there are for bicycles. "Getting there from WWU" is a brochure that points major locations and how to get to them by bus. In addition, Sustainable Transporttaion Office disseminates local Transit Authority informational materials with bus routes and schedules.

Western designates an entire office to the transportation, which processes bus passess, conducts outreach and overall promotes sustainable transportation around the university and the Bellingham area. There are many printed, as well as on-line resources that students can use to learn how to take a bus, and what sort of accomodations there are for bicycles."Campus Bike Map and Bicycling Guide" provides basic bicycling tips as well as a map of biking pathways on and around campus.

The Office of Sustainability periodically disseminates paper and social media content about "Power Down" actions over Winter, Thanksgiving, and Spring breaks. The flyers and posters contain tips and reminders on how to conserve energy while away from dorms and offices.
