In 2018 Western became a Leader College in the Achieving the Dream network of community colleges. Achieving the Dream is a national, nonprofit organization that champions evidence-based institutional improvement. Colleges in this network place front and center efforts to ensure that their students, especially low-income students and students of color, successfully complete their academic aspirations.
