Western is working to make their institution poverty-informed. We have extensive basic need support and employees have completed a poverty informed training.
Western has funds set aside specifically to assist students in financial need. These Emergency Funding dollars are given to students for a variety of different services that would help them stay in school. A few examples are purchasing textbooks, car repairs, rent, etc.
The application fee is automatically waived if a student self reports they meet economically disadvantaged guidelines on the application. This is done as part of completing the online application.
