Sustainapalooza
A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):
In conjunction with Arbor Day and the end of our spring trimester, Western hosts a campus-wide event called Sustainapalooza. Student clubs and academic programs representing a diverse array of program areas from culinary skills to horticulture education to early childhood education prepare information, booths, and activities for the community. There is a tree planting demonstration, activities for kids, tree-inspired snacks, a plant sale, and booths hosted by other sustainability-related organizations in the community.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):
We track the number of attendees, the number of student clubs, programs, and outside organizations that participate in hosting booths/activities. These numbers are a proxy for creating an awareness of sustainability in our area.
Optional Fields
Student-run IT Help Desk and E-waste collecting (every March); working with a local R2 Certified e-waste recycler this service gives those living in our 11-county district a chance to responsibly recycle e-waste for free
