A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
All students, faculty and staff can access seven free counseling visits at the mental health center on campus. If students require more assistance, the student affairs office may be contacted for additional resources. Faculty and staff can access additional visits through our health insurance which offers full mental health benefits. The institution also promotes a mental health assessment and resource website called MyStrength through our local mental health center. The institution offers a free health fair for faculty and staff, with free blood chemistry and wellness assessments. Western also has a full time Prevention Educator who works with students on total wellness.

In support of the health and wellbeing of all students, faculty, and staff at Western, tobacco use and/or smoking any
substance is prohibited in all of Westerns buildings, including the residence halls/apartments. This prohibition includes, but is not limited to cigarettes, cigars, smokeless chewing tobacco/dip, bidis, cloves, pipe tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaporizers, vape pens, vape wax, oils, hookahs, marijuana. Cigarette and tobacco use is prohibited within 30 feet of any University
building.
