We have an Affirmative Action Officer (Director of HR) to ensure that there is no discrimination in employment, which includes outreach to prospective employees/qualified individuals in protective classes. This is only part of her position. We have a Title IX officer. We also have a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee through shared governance which focuses on awareness, recruitment, and retention of underrepresented people groups. We also have a multicultural center and 2 employees associated with that. We are hiring a Vice President of Inclusivity.

We do have anti-bias training, Inclusion forums, anti-discrimination trainings and discussions in the leadership of campus. Western has a multicultural center that hosts activities throughout the year including Diversity Week, Uncomfortable Conversations Open Forum, and cultural events (Native American Heritage Week, Black Student Alliance "Soul Food Night", etc).
We have syllabi workshops to avoid bias in courses.
