A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:
Buildings are built to LEED Gold standards which often involve landscaping around buildings that utilize green infrastructure for water infiltration. Western has installed permeable pavement in the Fieldhouse parking lot. Also, the Grounds Department in conjunction with an ENVS class installed a rainwater garden at the end of a long stormwater drainage that ends at Aspinall Wilson Center.
