Has the institution banned or eliminated the on-site sales and distribution of at least one type of single-use disposable plastic?:
Yes
A brief description of the single-use disposable plastics that have been banned or eliminated:
Western eliminated single-use disposable to-go containers that were spurred from Covid-19 related seating capacity restrictions in the dining hall. The Sustainability Action Committee (SAC) had this idea to support the ‘Eat, Wash, Reuse’ program with funding from Pepsi through the Western contract. Students now receive a green reusable to-go container and are required to bring it back each time they want a to-go order.
