A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
New Student Orientation is required for all undergraduates. This program addresses sustainability through: an in-person skit that introduces Western's sustainability values. Students also engage with an online orientation that introduces new students to Western's sustainability values and a specific "what to recycle" quiz. Students also provide statements about what sustainability means to them and have options to sign up to get involved prior to arriving to campus. During in-person orientation students also tour campus to see a variety of campus initiatives, including composting in the dining hall, and attend resource fairs designed to provide students opportunities for further involvement and enhanced programming to learn more about campus initiatives.

Graduate program orientation varies program by program.
