A brief description of the graduate-level degree program:

This degree offers flexibility to students with interests outside existing disciplinary boundaries and established programs by allowing them to combine coursework and research in two or more disciplines/programs from across the university. This is a self-designed program that is developed by the student with input from faculty champions from the chosen disciplines. Students interested in exploring a dissertation in sustainability can combine disciplines related to various aspects of the topic.

The 16 credit hour certificate program in Learning for Sustainability consists of 3 courses, an interdisciplinary seminar, and a practicum course designed to develop competencies needed to wrestle with real-world sustainability challenges. The program features a unique approach to cross-college collaboration that draws on best-practice research on sustainability core competencies.
