The 2017 WKU Sustainability Values, Awareness, and Behaviors survey was developed in collaboration between the students of an Environmental Ethics class, Student Government Association, the Office of Sustainability, and Research Coordinator, Dr. Matt Foraker. The survey was first administered to the entire campus community in February 2017. The survey was edited, revised, and administered again in April 2018, in collaboration with Earth Week.
In January 2020, the Student Government Association administered a survey related to food insecurity needs and perceptions. The survey also included questions about support for sustainability among the student body population.

An email was sent to the entire campus community (student-all, faculty-all, and staff-all) requesting participation using Typeform Plus. The email was sent both from the Office of Sustainability and also the Student Government Association Sustainability Committee.
