Yes
Percentage of employees (staff and faculty) assessed, directly or by representative sample (0-100):
65
A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
The WKU Staff Council administers a Staff Satisfaction Survey. The Staff Satisfaction Survey is distributed periodically to WKU Part-Time and Full-Time Staff Members to measure feelings regarding specific facets of the job as well as overall job satisfaction. In 2011 a survey was administered to all campus staff. In 2012, a survey was administered specifically to Facilities Management staff. The 2012 survey was administered at Facilities staff meetings. The response rate was 74.8%. In late February 2017, Staff Council administered a satisfaction survey to all staff (65% of total employees). The survey is still under administration and results have not be completed or reported.
A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):
The Staff Council participated in the development of the Strategic Plan, representing staff desires and needs. As a result of the Facilities survey, they have conducted meetings with Facilities groups to learn how they can help improve working conditions and address specific issues (health care, wages, other benefits). The most recent survey, in progress, will be used to inform upcoming administrative planning, and identify priorities and needs for improving staff satisfaction.
