A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:

WKU Students have formed the WKU Student Coalition for Renters' Rights. This group advocates for renters' rights in local policy. Another example is the Fairness Campaign, which advocates for equality across the LGBTQ spectrum in Bowling Green, KY. A student chapter of the Fairness Campaign and the university president have demonstrated support and encouragement of advocating for LGBTQ rights in regional policy, extending to WKU's Owensboro campus. .
