WKU Building Services Green Cleaning Program
Your WKU Building Services unit is proud to communicate the ‘green cleaning’ efforts that we have
implemented and use in our services every day.

Below are just a few of the ‘green’* products used by our team members in our daily services, and by our
campus customers:
 Neutral Cleaner
 General Purpose Cleaner
 Glass Cleaner
 Floor Finish
 Toilet Paper
 Paper Towels
 Hand Soap
*these products are third-party certified as environmentally friendly
Energy Cost Savings Efforts:
All cleaning chemicals used by our BSA team in their solution centers are diluted at low, safe levels and
require ONLY cold water! This reduces the energy use and costs associated with heating water for cleaning!
In addition to the products noted above, WKU Building Services has also implemented the use of ‘green’
 FaST® Auto Scrubbers with Echo Technology – This eliminates the need for any chemicals, ONLY
water is used to clean the floors! Water is oxidized and ‘energized’ to provide deep cleaning with no
residue of chemicals being left behind on floor surfaces.
 “BOOST” floor scrubbers – These machines are used to remove wax from floors WITHOUT the use of
harsh stripper chemicals – ONLY water is used!
 All vacuums used in our facilities provide HEPA filtration to promote cleaner air!
 New Gary Ransdell College of Education vacuums contribute to LEED certification for the building!
It is our goal to always provide clean, safe working environments for everyone here at WKU!! Your Building
Services team will continue to seek further opportunities to implement new products, equipment and
cleaning procedures by which to clean your facilities ‘green’ AND ensure we do our parts to protect and
preserve our environment!
