A brief description of any recycling quality control mechanisms employed:
WCU has created a strategic plan to move the university toward Zero Waste. Our goal is to reduce the amount of physical waste that is produced across our campuses. The plan specifically focuses on how to improve UB’s campus-wide recycling diversion rate and expand composting opportunities.

Programs and Initiatives
-----
A brief description of the institution's waste audits and other initiatives to assess its materials management efforts and identify areas for improvement:
To get involved in environmental responsibility and waste management in both theory and practice
manner in all faculties and departments of the university
To reduce water consumption by shutting off water tap if not necessary
To minimize carbon footprint by using public transport vehicles instead of private cars
To use more glass bottles rather than single-used plastic bottles
To use both sides of papers efficiently and drop used papers into recycle bins for only papers
To drop plastic bottles and bags into recycle bins for only plastics
To prefer led lamps to achieve energy efficiency
To turn off lights and computers if not necessary
To grow flowers and other plants
