Inventory of the institution’s sustainability research:
A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:
WVU's Research office did a keyword search of its awards database for 87 sustainability keywords within the 2017-2018, 2018-2019, and 2019-2020 academic years. Sustainability office employees then reviewed each resulting award title to ensure the keywords resulted in the right context for sustainability research. This was then compared to spreadsheets listing all awards active in the 2017-2018, 2018-2019, and 2019-2020 academic years. Number of departments listed for all awards is higher than the number listed in Preface 5. The Office of Sponsored Programs uses a finer-detail department listing that could include entities like the Provost's Office or The WVU Energy Institute.
