Custodial workers (SMG) receive a minimum total compensation of $16.45/hour excluding benefits.
SMG employee pay includes 1 @ $17.70/hour, 2 @ $17.65/hour, 22 @ $16.45/hour heavy duty, and 25 @ $16.15/hour light duty for FY 19.

Grounds (Stonehedge): The lowest paid employee (2 positions) earn $16.00/hr. Of the 8 total Stonehedge positions, 3 earn under $17.65.

Dining (Bon Appetit): All 108 Bon Appetit employees earn a living wage; the average wage is $27.50/hr.

Bookstore (RJ Julia): The lowest paid employee (21 positions) earn $12.00/hr. Of the 29 positions, most of which are part-time, 24 earn under $17.65.

Wesleyan's Employment Code for Service Contractors (which applies to third party contractors as well as regular employees and temps) stipulates a total compensation standard of $15.39/hr. as of September 2018. Contract employees scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week are eligible to participate as full-time employees in a health insurance plan that includes cost-sharing. Full-time employees are eligible for 5 vacation days after 1 year of continuous employment. Employees are permitted to participate in ESL courses at Wesleyan and to enroll their children in Neighborhood Preschool.
