Per Emily Burt, director of Residence Life (10/17/17 email):
Some buildings have bike racks outside, but not all. If there’s not a bike rack, they can’t chain [bikes] to lampposts/road signs, etc, but if students are not chaining [bikes] to anything, they could park them near the res halls. as long as they are not blocking any sidewalks/means of egress/etc.
As far as inside the buildings, students are not allowed to leave bikes in the hallways or outside their rooms. They can bring bikes into their rooms to store them.

Wells College is sited alongside New York State Route 90, so the segment of the campus fronting that highway conforms to the goals and objectives of the THE NEW YORK STATE
BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN PLAN, produced by The New York State Department of Transportation in cooperation with the NEW YORK STATE BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COUNCIL. This plan calls for 2. DEVELOPING BIKE/PED NETWORKS that provide for safe, seamless, internodal bicycle and pedestrian travel as a viable element of a balanced system of travel for all modes and all users at the local, regional and statewide levels.

The College observes "summer hours" during the months of June through mid-August. The College goes onto a 4-day work week schedule with all offices closed on Friday.
In general, the summer schedule operates as below:
• Core business hours for the summer are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. All offices will remain open during core business hours for the summer or arrange adequate coverage during those hours.
• Employees work 8 or 9 hours per day depending on their regularly scheduled time (35 or 40 hours/week) for four days plus a 30-minute lunch break.

Wells College provides housing as it is available for faculty and staff as a convenience to the College and its employees. Rents are set at a level which approximates market rental rates, as it is not the College's intention to subsidize housing or to incur taxable liability for its employees. It is generally expected that tenants will remain in College housing no longer than five (5) years. When available, housing will be offered
according to the following priority:
1. Administrative positions which, in the opinion of the President, require that the incumbent live in the Aurora area as a condition of employment.
2. Faculty:
a. Full-time faculty who are not currently in College housing. Priority will be based on academic rank, and within rank, on time in rank.
b. Faculty in College housing who desire new quarters. Priority to be determined as in
paragraph one (1) above. In case of ties, application date will be the determining factor.
3. Staff:
a. Full-time administrative staff who are not currently in College housing. Priority will be based on application date.
b. Administrative staff who are already in College housing who desire new quarters. Priority will be based on application date.
4. Retired faculty and staff requesting apartment housing.
5. All others. Priority for assignment determined by the Chief Operating Officer.
