A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
Students may access health services and counseling programs through the Community Medical Center, on the Wells College campus. Mental Health Screenings and Mental Health and Personal Counseling are offered thru the Medical Center; Students may see a counselor up to six times per year at no cost and is covered thru the students' medical insurance.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The College provides an employee assistance program, available to all full-time employees and their dependents, to assist with problems of everyday living; i.e. emotional, marital, financial, drug/alcohol. Counseling through the EAP is provided by Cayuga Counseling Service, Inc. and also available through the College’s Long Term Disability Plan. The College provides up to three (3) free counseling sessions per fiscal year for employees and dependents. All sessions are confidential. Employees should contact the offices directly and arrange his/her own appointments. The Employee Assistance Program is available to all employees and their families as part of
the College's benefit program. Further information is available from the Human Resources Office.
Through the College's health care plan, administered through Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield, employees are also able to access the Healthy Rewards program, which provides monetary compensation for self-assessment of health condition, goal-setting for health improvements, tracking eating and exercise habits, and accessing health information.
Employees are invited to use the recreational facilities at the Schwartz Student Union, which include the swimming pool, tennis courts, gym, cardio room and weight room. These are available during posted hours or when not in use for class or team activities. Employees may also purchase a season pass to the Wells College Golf Course at the College Pro Shop.
In addition, Staff Forum undertakes the annual 700-miles Aurora2Aurora mileage challenge, encouraging teams of faculty/staff to log their walking/running miles during a 6 week period. Participants receive Aurora2Aurora t-shirts and the winning team receives prizes.
