A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate for construction and demolition waste:
In future, construction and renovation contracts will include language related to C&D waste reduction and will require such project waste to be the responsibility of the contractor, not the College. Also, in past years, summer C&D included mattresses, excess room furniture and other miscellaneous waste items for which we are currently working to develop diversion mechanisms (mattress recycling, furniture donation to FingerLakes Reuse, etc.)
