A brief description of steps the institution has taken to ensure that the purchasing policy, directives, or guidelines are followed :
Paper for office use and computer labs is all purchased centrally by the Office of the Provost, which maintains a standard of procuring at minimum 30%-recycled post-consumer content paper. Wells College is able to utilize the New York State Office of General Services contract for such paper procurement, which offers at minimum 30% recycled content paper to state agencies. In addition, Wells maintains an office supply contract with Staples for other specialty papers not available through the New York State contract (colored papers) and maintains a custom Sustainable Products selection list for our campus community, with contract pricing on recycled-content papers.
