President Paula Johnson is a signatory of the national Higher Ed Carbon Pricing Endorsement Initiative. Following the withdrawal of the US from the Paris Climate Agreement, Wellesley's President, Dr. Paula Johnson, signed onto the "We Are Still In" coalition (https://www.wearestillin.com/) which promised to continue to support action towards fulfilling the federal climate targets of the Obama administration. "The "We are still in" pledge reports that overnors, mayors, and businesses have significantly shaped the US climate agenda, especially in parallel to federal action during the Obama Administration. As of October 2017, 20 states and 110 cities have enacted GHG targets, and 1,361 businesses representing $25 trillion of the US economy and 587 US universities with a total enrolment of 5.2 million students have voluntarily adopted targets." http://www.climateaction.org/news/we-are-still-in-coalition-launched-the-americas-pledge-report-during-cop23

Following the withdrawal of the US from the Paris Climate Agreement, Wellesley's President, Dr. Paula Johnson, signed onto the "We Are Still In" coalition (https://www.wearestillin.com/) which promised to continue to support action towards fulfilling the Paris Agreement during COP23 in Bonn. America’s "We are still in" pledge presented the official report on US climate action, analyzing how US states, cities, businesses, citizens, and universities can support the Paris Agreement even without federal action."The Phase 1 report examines current non-federal climate policies and actions and identifies promising areas to scale up action for non-federal actors to deepen and strengthen their role in meeting the US commitment to reduce emissions by 26-28 percent below 2005 levels by 2025."
