WellesleyX is part of the edX collaborative, an online learning community that provides learning opportunities through both credit and non-credit online course offerings. WellesleyX courses are open and free of cost to anyone with an Internet connection—regardless of gender or geography—through edX.
The WellesleyX online course "Sociology 108X: Introduction to Global Sociology" addresses sustainability: global consumption, individual consumption patterns, and race, gender, and class inequality. Other sustainability-related courses include Global Inequality and Global Social Change.
Most courses at the college can be audited by alumni, current and some former employees, and international students.
