Staff from the Office of Sustainability looked through the description of every course offered between Spring 2016 and Fall 2018. Keeping the AASHE definition of "sustainability course" and "course that includes sustainability" in mind, a list of courses was compiled. The list was reviewed by staff from the Environmental Studies program.

Sustainability-focused and Sustainability-related courses offered between Spring 2016 and Fall 2018 were counted only once even if they were offered more than one time in that period. Sustainability-focused and Sustainability-related courses that were cross-listed in two departments were counted as two single courses.
