A brief description of the postconsumer food waste composting program:
Wellesley College composts food waste for campus wide events when possible. This is operated by the Office of Sustainability staff in coordination with dining services. The food waste is sent to a facility called We Care in Marlborough, MA that composts the food waste. Other than this, composting does not occur for regular/daily dining services or locations. Also, the College Club donates all post-consumer food waste to a local farmer who utilizes it for his own operations.
