A brief description of the event(s):
The Communicating Science Symposium, run by a committee of students and faculty, hosts one major event every year. Each event features a panel and workshops run by various professors, scholars, and environmental professionals which challenge climate change barriers. In 2010, climatologist James Hansen came to speak at this event. This year, in 2011, the theme was technological solutions to climate change. Most of the environmental groups host open lectures, film screenings, discussions, and campaigns to raise awareness and get students involved on campus.
