Tier2-3: Tree Campus USA
Is the institution recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation's Tree Campus USA program?:
A brief description of the institution's Tree Campus USA program:
While we do not participate in Tree Campus USA we do adhere to most of their guidelines. Over 4000 trees have been planted since 1998, and almost all of them have been inventoried utilizing GIS and database for maintenance. Landscape is so important that the trustees in 1998 changed the name from "buildings and grounds" to "landscape and buildings" to prioritize the landscape at Wellesley College. There is also Wellesley-wide community involvement for one day a year on "Day to make a difference" to do over 100 plantings on campus.
