A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:
The main campus is composed of the Danforth Campus (169 acres) and the Medical Campus (164 acres). Satellite campuses include North Campus (13 acres), South Campus (9 acres) and West Campus (5.5 acres), which primarily house administrative functions. The Tyson Research Center is not currently included in total campus area as it significantly inflates the boundary with 1,966.5 acres of open land and undeveloped forestry used for ecological studies.
Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? | Included? | |
Agricultural school | No | No |
Medical school | Yes | Yes |
Other professional school with labs or clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) | Yes | Yes |
Museum | Yes | Yes |
Satellite campus | Yes | Yes |
Farm larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres | No | No |
Agricultural experiment station larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres | Yes | No |

The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:
For most STARS sections, we define the university to include our satellite sites; however, within the Greenhouse Gas Emissions section, we focused on the university's primary campuses: Danforth Campus, South 40 Residential Area and Medical Campus.
This boundary was defined by our 2015 Energy and Emissions Study, commissioned to update our 2020 Energy and Emission goal. It was not scoped to include satellite campus emissions information.
