A brief description of the undergraduate degree program:

The major in Environmental Analysis is a 49-credit, flexible program of study that focuses on developing critical skills and competencies on interdisciplinary environmental work. The major is ideal for students seeking an interdisciplinary major focused on the environment and sustainability to stand alone, or to complement a primary major in the natural or social sciences or humanities.

Environmental Engineering

A brief description of the undergraduate degree program (2nd program):

The Department of Energy, Environment and Chemical Engineering in the School of Engineering & Applied Science at WUSTL was the first of its kind in the country when it was created in 2006. The department brings together faculty involved in interdisciplinary environment engineering science and chemical engineering to focus on contributing to solutions for the energy and environmental challenges around the world. It continues to build upon cooperation among many different facets of the university to bring a truly interdisciplinary approach to advancing basic science. With integrated and multidisciplinary programs of scientific education as well as a tradition of lifelong learning, the department plays an integral role in WUSTL’s initiatives to address global challenges.

The BS in Environmental Engineering degree program is designed to provide students with comprehensive training in environmental engineering fundamentals. The program has been designed with the goal of receiving accreditation by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. The program benefits from the relatively unique context of a department that integrates environmental engineering and chemical engineering. The major also requires an Environmental Humanities and Social Science courses and an Engineering Ethnics and Sustainability Course that are sustainability focused.

Environmental Biology/Environmental Earth Science/Environmental Policy

A brief description of the undergraduate degree program (3rd program):

Majors relating to Environmental Studies each have a different disciplinary focus, but also expose students to interdisciplinary problem-solving in environmental studies, taking advantage of faculty expertise in anthropology, biology, economics, earth and planetary sciences, political science, and engineering. In addition to these three majors, Anthropology majors can choose a track within the major focused on global health and the environment. Undergraduates can cap off their environmental studies with the many research opportunities that are both on and off campus.

The Bachelor of Science in Architecture offers a more intensive study of architecture during your senior year. You'll take an upper-level design studios focused on advanced building design, along with structures courses, architectural history/theory courses that emphasize urban design issues, and technology courses in environmental systems or landscape architecture.

This minor was developed to prepare students to tackle real-world environmental challenges by providing more robust opportunities for interdisciplinary knowledge and skill development. The minor is structured to provide students with opportunities to strengthen their critical analysis and problem-solving skills through participation in team-based, experiential, often community-engaged learning around “wicked” real-world problems. Environmental Earth Sciences Minor

A brief description of the undergraduate minor or concentration (2nd program):

The minor in environmental Earth sciences (EES) is an attractive option for students majoring in a variety of other fields. The growing national concern for the natural environment and natural resources means that an EES minor is also valuable professionally to students who intend to pursue these and other fields, including law and architecture. Following the philosophy of the EES major, the minor combines interdisciplinarity with a solid grounding in Earth science.

A minor in environmental Earth sciences consists of three core courses, EPSc 201 Earth and the Environment, Biol 2950 Introduction to Environmental Biology, and Pol Sci 2010 Introduction to Environmental Policy or Phil 235F Environmental Ethics.
