A brief description of the methodology used to determine the total number of courses offered and to identify sustainability course offerings, including the definitions used and the process for reviewing and/or validating the course inventory :
In 2015, each school on campus was provided with the WU Sustainability Definition and asked to complete a survey of its courses, indicating those that fall into the categories of 'Sustainability-related' and 'Sustainability-focused.'
A student intern was hired to supplement the information received from each school to complete the survey. Annually, student interns review and update the listing of sustainability and sustainability-related courses. Because the most thorough survey was conducted in AY16, this is the data that was used for completing this STARS section.
The Office of the Registrar provided a full listing of all courses offered over the same time period for review and comparison with the inclusions/exclusions below.
