A brief description of on-site renewable electricity generating devices :
The Living Learning Center at the University's Tyson Research Center maintains a series of solar photovoltaic panels. Through these solar PVs, and with a combination of other sustainable systems, the Living Learning Centers produces net zero energy per the requirements of the Living Building Challenge (a certification the building received this past year).
Other solar PVs are located atop the Brauer Engineering Hall and Olin Library. A few wind turbines are also being piloted at a few locations on and off campus.
