A brief description of the pre-consumer food waste composting program:
Pre-consumer food waste and kitchen scraps are all collected on site at the main dining locations on the Danforth Campus and are picked up by St. Louis Composting to be composted off-site. The end product is brought back to campus to be used in the University's landscaping operations.
