Has the institution conducted a survey or other evaluation that allows for anonymous feedback to measure employee satisfaction and engagement during the previous three years?:
Yes
Percentage of employees assessed, directly or by representative sample:
10
A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
Human Resources conducted employee perception conversations with 10% of all benefit eligible employees in 2022-23 with proportional representation across gender, race and ethnicity. Responses were maintained confidentially and provided employees the opportunity to personally share their experience as an employee of the university. Given the conversational nature of the internal perception process, narrative employee responses were coded by question such as "Do you feel valued and recognized?" according to similar emerging themes. Results were analyzed at summary and identity group level across dimensions such as age, race, gender, service years, division and occupation.
A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
The perception conversation take-aways were shared with university leadership including the president, deans, vice presidents, provost and directors. Human Resources is utilizing the information learned to develop recognition programming and a manager cohort series of trainings designed to support behaviors that most positively correlate to what employees enjoy and what makes them feel valued.
