A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
Information regarding sustainability issues, such as energy use, health and safety, and waste minimization and recycling, is included in the employee handbook. This handbook is gone over with all new employees.
Orientation materials include the University Energy Policy and specific expectations for individuals. Custodial staff members receive additional information on the important role they play in energy conservation in both following specific energy protocols in their daily tasks and in relaying information about areas of waste either through equipment malfunctions or operational problems.
