A brief description of steps taken to ensure that e-waste is recycled responsibly, workers’ basic safety is protected, and environmental standards are met:
W&L has a program to pass on useable University computer systems and components to non profit organizations. Obsolete computer equipment is recycled through Dell. All campus community members may recycle e waste and other items in the Techno Trash bins. The Techno Trash e waste is also recycled via a Dell partnership with Goodwill Industries. A private company destroys the data, resells good parts and recycles unusable parts in an environmentally responsible fashion.
