Does the institution offer housing options to accomodate the special needs of transgender and transitioning students (either as a matter of policy or as standard practice)?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the program, policy, or practice:
We currently have no program or policy but our practice has been to meet with the student transitioning or whom identifies as transgender and discuss options. We allow the student to present what he/she believes would be a good fit for them and then we talk through that. Of the few conversations we have had with students of this population, we have found the majority of the time they would prefer living alone and having a private bath, of which we have options available. On the even rarer occasion, if a transgendered or transitioning student wants to live with others, it is important for us to seek the input of the students he/she wants to live with, of course with the student’s permission.
