A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate for construction and demolition waste:
We meet with contractors before they come onto campus to discuss our waste reduction goals. The Recycling Crew requires that campus crews pre-sort construction waste before bringing it down to our facility. We keep track of weights of different materials for major projects when possible. We recycle as much as possible; however, we are limited by the availability of recycling vendors in our area as to what can actually be diverted.
