A brief description of the institution’s work college designation, its work-learning-service programs for students, and how these programs address affordability and access:

Warren Wilson College is formally recognized as a work college by the U.S. Department of Education. In order to graduate, our students must meet criteria in academics, work and service (community engagement). Learning outcomes from these components are integrated by our civic identity framework to ensure the education of students who understand sustainability and are capable of creating a just and sustainable world.

The description of Warren Wilson College at the Work College Consortium website follows:
"Warren Wilson College is the only national liberal arts college that fully integrates on-campus work and off-campus community engagement into its curriculum. In addition to its innovative experiential program, the College and its 700 students are known for their strong commitment to environmental sustainability, diversity and social justice."

We have numerous scholarships available to all deserving students including full scholarship support for qualified NC students. Each undergraduate student receives a Work Grant each year which provides them with a tuition discount for their participation in the College's Work Program.
