Part 1

Does the institution have policies and/or guidelines in place to improve outdoor air quality and minimize air pollutant emissions from mobile sources on campus?:
Yes

None
A brief description of the policies and/or guidelines to improve outdoor air quality and minimize air pollutant emissions from mobile sources:
The university's Vehicle Fleet / Driver Management Administrative Procedure states that "it is the policy of WFU to continually improve the efficient use of vehicle fuels in an effort to reduce emissions and operating costs. To reduce overall emissions on campus and improve air quality, all vehicles on university property are prohibited from idling unnecessarily. Vehicle operators will adhere to the following standards: 1. Idling is prohibited (with the limited exceptions listed below) when the ambient temperature is above 32 degrees F. 2. Five (5) minute idle time limit when ambient temperature is 32 degrees and below. 3. Idling is prohibited in “No Idle Zones”. Signs indicate the location of these zones. 4. Vehicles will not be left idling when the operator is away from the vehicle (with the limited exceptions listed below). 5. Exceptions: a. Emergency response vehicles when responding to an emergency b. Vehicles that must remain a specific temperature for onboard materials. c. Health or safety reasons (e.g., severe weather conditions, use of vehicle safety features) d. Below 0 degrees for diesel vehicles. e. Traffic conditions." Additionally, there is an administrative policy stating that to "encourage efficient use of vehicles and fuel, employees traveling to the same destination are encouraged to carpool when possible."

Part 2

Has the institution completed an inventory of significant air emissions from stationary campus sources or else verified that no such emissions are produced?:
Yes

Weight of the following categories of air emissions from stationary sources::
Weight of Emissions
Nitrogen oxides (NOx) 11.40 Tons
Sulfur oxides (SOx) 0.07 Tons
Carbon monoxide (CO) 9 Tons
Particulate matter (PM) 0.86 Tons
Ozone (O3) ---
Lead (Pb) 0.00 Tons
Hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) 0.53 Tons
Ozone-depleting compounds (ODCs) ---
Other standard categories of air emissions identified in permits and/or regulations ---

None
A brief description of the methodology(ies) the institution used to complete its air emissions inventory:
Wake Forest University is classified as a synthetic minor source. We retained an outside consultant to conduct dispersion modeling under worst-case conditions with all boilers operating simultaneously and includes all emergency power generators on campus.
