Wellbeing Collaborative
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
The university is fully engaged in a signature campus-wide wellbeing initiative, Thrive. This program encompasses faculty, students, and staff members and supports the full integration of eight dimensions of wellbeing including emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, social, physical, and spiritual.
As a complementary initiative, a Wellbeing Collaborative has generated a new and novel Wellbeing Assessment that is intended to serve as a new tool for national assessment. This effort has attracted national attention and is a major contribution to the field.
Overarching wellbeing initiative goals are also reflected in the operational realm. The university's gym was fully renovated to house the successful and comprehensive wellbeing initiative. Renovations support the integration of Outdoor Pursuits, which sponsors adventure trips and rents outdoor equipment, as well as the university's bike-share program. The renovated indoor pool is heated by a roof-mounted solar heating system.
