Green Team captains are nominated and selected by their own departments and serve in this volunteer capacity with the approval of their direct supervisors.

A brief description of the formal training that the employee educators receive (1st program):
New Green Team captains participate in lunch orientation sessions, as well as quarterly education meetings. Captains also receive a bi-weekly email with educational information and tips about how to engage colleagues in current campus sustainability campaigns. The captains then distribute this information to the members of their department.
"Think Green Thursdays" offer opportunities for captains to learn about engaging, participatory games and activities that they can share with their departments.
