A brief description of the campaign (1st campaign):
Office of Sustainability interns, Sustainability Ambassadors, and the Program Coordinator conduct campus-wide outreach throughout the academic year, including a public event every Thursday. Tables with interactive games to help educate peers are set up in the student center, in front of the dining hall at lunch times, and in the library during mid-terms and finals. The Choose to Reuse campaign specifically supports students in choosing reusable water bottles and coffee mugs, instead of disposable bottled water and coffee cups.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (1st campaign):
The effect of the year-long sustainability outreach campaign is increased participation by volunteers, increased applications for sustainability internships, increased participation in the ridesharing program, increased shuttle ridership, increased participation in the re-usable to-go container program, a marked increase in recycling, and a measurable decrease in the contamination rates of recycling. During the 2013/2014 academic year, Think Green Thursday was held 26 times and resulted in over 1,400 interactions.

A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):
The Choose to Reuse campaign educates campus users on the importance of using a reusable water bottle or beverage thermos instead of a disposable water bottle or coffee cup. An interactive quiz is administered to faculty during new faculty orientation, to students in a required introductory-level Health and Exercise Science course, and at other outreach events throughout the year. Each quiz participant receives a free reusable water bottle and "Choose to Reuse" sticker provided by the Office of Sustainability.

The campaign, which is supported by the installation of water bottle refill stations across campus, results in the reduction of the purchase or use of one disposable water bottle every nine minutes. Each time the water bottle refill station is used, the refill is tracked by the station.
