A brief description of the formal training that the employee educators receive (1st program):
New Green Team captains participate in alternating breakfast and lunch orientation sessions, as well as quarterly education meetings. Captains also receive a weekly email with educational information and tips about how to engage colleagues in current campus sustainability campaigns. The captains then distribute this information to the members of their department.
Through the Professional Development Center, "Green Team 101" training is available to all staff two times per year. The program is not designed to be only a one-way training opportunity; it is meant to facilitate an exchange of best practices amongst the network of captains.
"Think Green Thursdays" offer opportunities for captains to learn about engaging, participatory games and activities that they can share with their departments.
